The Communication and Customer Services Unit of Tweed Shire Council is responsible for media releases, responding to journalist, television and photo requests, and general media and industry publication related enquiries. Media organisations are encouraged to use our email subscription service to receive automatic notification of Council media releases via email. You can unsubscribe at any time by logging in to the right, then select the 'Unsubscribe' option.

Art Deco delights displayed in Murwillumbah

Later this month, the National Gallery of Australia will launch the travelling exhibition Art Deco from the National Collection: The world turns modern. The national tour will begin at the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre in Murwillumbah, a town with its own rich Art Deco heritage.

Renowned Aboriginal artist back with new work

Albert (Digby) Moran is a Bundjalung artist who paints prolifically. He is one of the Northern Rivers’ most renowned Aboriginal artists. Over the past two decades he has painted an extraordinary body of work that has been embraced by local, national and international audiences.
His latest exhibition, titled ‘Painting Place’, features a series of new paintings, and opens at Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre on Friday 24 May.
