The Gallery offers daily, guided tours of current exhibitions for the public. These are hosted by our trained Volunteer Gallery Guides at 11.30am Wednesdays to Sundays (except public holidays). The tours last approximately 40 - 45 minutes and provide a glimpse into the history of the Gallery and the exhibitions on display, including the Margaret Olley Art Centre.
To join the free tour, meet the Gallery Guide at the front foyer before 11.30am. Bookings are not necessary unless you are a small group (10 or under) wishing to join the tour.
Group Bookings and Planning Your Visit
Bookings are essential for all group visits and tours. For further information, or to discuss a proposed booking, please contact the Gallery on (02) 6670 2790 or email GalleryEducation@tweed.nsw.gov.au
To let us know of your visit, and ensure that it is a valuable and enjoyable experience, please complete a Booking Request Form (see link in Special Tours section below) and email or fax to the Gallery at least three weeks prior. Your visit can be self-guided or if you are a group of over 10 people you can request a guided tour or talk by our Volunteer Guides for either 10.30am or 1.30pm. (Please note that we operate on NSW Daylight Savings Time from 2 October 2016)
Please note that the Gallery has been extremely busy since the opening of the Margaret Olley Art Centre so the availability of tours is limited. The earlier you contact us about your proposed dates the greater the likelihood that we will be able to accommodate your requests.
The Gallery is open to the public Wednesday to Sunday, closed Christmas Day and Good Friday.
Special Tours for Groups
We also run tours for children, adults, school, community, interest groups or groups with special requirements upon request. Please fill in a Group Booking Request Form (302kB PDF)
and make sure you add 3 preference dates, your time of arrival, numbers, whether your group will be self- guided or would like to book a tour for 10.30am or 1.30pm. Carefully read page 2 on the Booking Request Form as there is some important information that will help you plan your visit. At least three weeks’ minimum notice is required to book a special tour.
