Surrounded by beautiful gardens and lawns and offering panoramic views of the Tweed River, the Tweed Regional Gallery is the perfect place to visit to view first-rate exhibitions.
The Gallery's six exhibition spaces host a vibrant program of historical and contemporary touring exhibitions of national significance, alongside curated exhibitions of established national and regional artists. The program includes the $20,000 Olive Cotton Award for photographic portraiture. The Gallery’s collection includes a world class collection of portraits representing Australians from all walks of life.
Visitors can participate in the Gallery’s exciting variety of programs including public events, concerts, exhibition openings, artists’ talks, demonstrations and workshops which cater for all ages. The Gallery also offers a workshop and education area, Gallery Café with indoor and outdoor seating, Gallery Shop and research library.
The Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre is a Tweed Shire Council Community facility, supported by Arts NSW, the Friends of Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre Inc., the Tweed Regional Gallery Foundation Ltd., and private donations.
The Gallery Shop presents an extensive range of quality gifts and handcrafted items with a focus on work by nationally recognised local artists and designers. The Gallery Shop also stocks a range of merchandise reflecting the Collection, as well as a changing range of speciality exhibition merchandise and publications which complement the touring program.
The Gallery has developed an extensive range of merchandise to enhance the Margaret Olley Art Centre showcasing artworks by Olley and elements of the re-creation of her Duxford St home studio.
The Gallery also stocks merchandise marketed and developed by the Friends of Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre Inc.
The Shop is located in the main Foyer of the Gallery and is open during Gallery opening hours from 10.00am – 5.00pm, Wednesday to Sunday. The proceeds from all sales enhance the Gallery's programs and exhibitions.
